at the lido!
- On October 2nd 2006 at the Lido in Paris, Thierry Marx was voted "Chef of the year 2006" amongst his peers. This accolade is one of the most prestigious of the profession and is decided by secret ballot exclusively by Michelin starred chefs.
Accolades were awarded not only to Mr. Marx, but also to his second chef, Jean-Luc Rocha, who won the 1st prize for the Lucien Vannier Trophy and second prize for the European Trophy of the "Hauts de France" on the same day.
- From this spring, our clients will have the opportunity to benefit from a massage center at Cordeillan-Bages. Located at the pool side of the hotel, the massagist will offer Californian massage, traditional Thai massage, asian foot massage, sweedish massage and a body scrub.
NB: Cordeillan-Bages is closed between November 26th 2006 until Valentines Day, February 13th 2007.
THE OPENING OF THE VILLAGE OF Bages
"Destination Vignobles Bordeaux"

- Every other year, Maison de la France organises "Destination Vignobles" on the theme of wine tourism. This year Bordeaux was chosen as the destination to join up travel agents specialised in wine tours and suppliers from all over France. Alsace, Burgundy, Champagne, Côtes du Rhône, and of course Bordeaux were some of the regions represented.
- A day of workshops and several days of fun in the vineyards was launched at Château Lynch-Bages and "Le Village de Bages" on Wednesday 0ctober 18th. The event marked the inauguration of the paved central square in the village. 250 people from all over the world had the chance to sample local specialties such as Arcachon oysters, Bayonne ham, Pauillac lamb, local wines, traditional games...Thierry Marx and his team were present to provide the final touch with a delicious buffet of "amuse-bouches" and top growths wines.

- The Summer 2006 was atypical: July was very hot and August rather cloudy and dry. After a few drops of rain, the cool nights and hot days of September ripened the grapes to their best. Numerous wine enthousiasts travelled to Bordeaux at picking time: we had a great season hitting record number of visitors at Chateau Lynch-Bages, and we are expecting those numbers to keep increasing in the future. Cellar visits and tastings
- The Chateau Lynch-Bages will be open for visits at weekends all year round as from this November.
(Upon reservation only - 4 different times are proposed: Saturday and Sunday 10:00am, 11:30am, 2:30pm and 4:00pm.)
After April we will resume our summer schedule.
15.000 visitors crossed our treshold at Lynch-Bages since January 1st. An increase of more than 3.000 from last year over the same period.
The exhibition of artist Arnulf Rainer's paintings was one of the high points of the visit, and greatly appreciated.

Recently, we received a whole range of sommelliers accessories, and a collection of very high quality colourful Basque linen adorns the shop and marries nicely with traditional french tableware.
